  1. Nubus/PDS Slot Devices Definitions
  2.  
  3. General:
  4.              This report primarily lists cards present in Nubus/PDS equipped Macs. 
  5.              However, it also lists functions that are provided by the machine but do
  6.              not actually reside on cards plugged into the bus.  This is even true of
  7.              Macs that do not have a Nubus/PDS bus at all, e.g. pci Macs.
  8.  
  9. Note:  Because of the ability for Slot cards to provide many not only 
  10.             new but duplicate services (such as additional serial ports, another SCSI
  11.             Bus, etc.) there may be additional information here regarding the 
  12.             capabilities of your machine that does not appear in other report
  13.             categories.

  15.             When Nubus/PDS Slots is displayed, the All Slots checkbox appears
  16.             which forces the list to include slots with assigned functionality but no 
  17.             physical slot card.  This is also true if the <cmd> key is held down while 
  18.             choosing Reports... from the TattleTech pull down menu.

  25. 窶｢ Total Physical PDS Slots Present =  Total number of physical PDS slots
  26.               in the machine
  27. 窶｢ Total Physical Nubus Slots Present = Total number of physical
  28.               Nubus slots in the machine

  32. 窶｢ Nubus/PDS Slot# = This represents the slot number in hex as seen by the 
  33.               Slot Manager.  Built-in slots range in number from $0-$E while physical
  34.               slots  range from $9-$E.  These numbers are machine type dependent. 
  35.               Only physical slots with boards and built-in slots with connected devices
  36.               are reported.  In certain cases, e.g. the LC, a built-in slot with no
  37.               connected device may appear.  You can force the list to include all slots 
  38.               which have a device or function mapped to them by selecting the All Slots 
  39.               checkbox.
  40.    笳Š Pseudo Nubus Slot# = This number represents the physical location of the
  41.               Slot containing the board, counting from the closest parallel side of 
  42.               the machine  [Nubus Slot]
  43.    笳Š Board Name = Name of the board  [Present In Board ROM]
  44.    笳Š Board ID = Identification number of the board as assigned by manufacturer 
  45.               [Present In Board ROM]
  46.    笳Š Vendor ID = Name of manufacturer [Present In Board ROM]
  47.    笳Š Serial# = Board serial number [Present In Board ROM]
  48.    笳Š Revision Level = Revision level of the board [Present In Board ROM]
  49.    笳Š Part# = Part number assigned by the manufacturer [Present In Board ROM]
  50.    笳Š Date = Date of manufacture or revision [Present In Board ROM]
  51.    笳Š Functional Resources:  Following this heading is a listing of those functions
  52.               which are currently available on the board.  Some boards, e.g. SCSI,
  53.               may support more than one device or device type.  If you see a number
  54.               next to Category or Type without a (name) next to it, please send us
  55.               the numbers and any information which you may know regarding the
  56.               function of the board.  This information will then be used to update the 
  57.               category and type names.  These fields are not listed in the "Tab-
  58.               Delimited Text File Report" format. [Present In Board ROM]
  59.       + Device sResource Name = Name of function from board窶冱 point of view 
  60.          - Device Category = Category number and (category name) if known
  61.          - Device Type = Device number and (type name) if known.  If it is a video
  62.               device, more information is available under Monitors, referenced by the
  63.               Slot number
  64.          - Device Software Interface Type = Format of the driver窶冱 interface
  65.          - Device Hardware ID = Identifies the supported hardware
  66.          - Device sResource ID = Number, in hex, of the SResource which 
  67.               describes this function
  68.          - Driver Number = Number of the driver which controls this device.
  69.               Refer to the Driver list
